A GOOD TRANSITION
Death & Grief Support

Meet
Marla Zapach
Welcome to my practice in Alberta, where I draw upon an extensive global experience working with many different cultures in various challenging contexts.

After more than 30 years working throughout the world in crisis and conflict situations, I now apply this experience to assist individuals and families facing the complexities of grief, death, and dying.
I am committed to facilitating healing journeys through active listening, creative expression, and the cultivation of agency. In a safe and confidential environment, we collaboratively explore feelings and experiences, empowering you to navigate your unique path forward.

Dedication
My dedication to supporting others through grief stems from my personal experience accompanying both my brother and father during their final life stages. I firmly believe that everyone, regardless of status or background, deserves a dignified and supported death. My experience highlights the critical need for guidance in navigating our complex healthcare system, particularly for the underserved and invisible in our province.
This is where I can assist and support you or your loved one
through the dying process by providing end of life coaching, support and companionship to individuals and families, actively transforming this transition into a healing and quieting experience.
Serving Those With Diverse Needs
I specifically enjoy serving people who have diverse needs. I employ a creative and individualised approach to the grief and grieving process that addresses aspects often overlooked by traditional practices. Together, we will uncover unique pathways to understanding and navigating grief, ensuring that each individual's journey is honoured, respected and encouraged.

My Certifications & Experience
As a certified Creative Grief Practitioner with the Creative Grief Studio, I possess a unique skill set to aid individuals on their grief journey. By opening creative avenues for expression, we work through the journey of mourning to emerge on the other side. I am also a Death Doula certified by the Home Hospice Association and can actively support and advocate for those transitioning to reduce stress and worry during this time.
With a Trauma Certification from Wilfred Laurier Continuing Education, I understand that dying can be a complex and conflicted process. Therefore, I assist individuals and families in coming to an understanding and acceptance in this special space. My academic background includes a MA in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Alberta, thus enhancing my understanding of diverse cultural perspectives on grief and healing.
